This very popular course is a step up from the AP Course and is certificated and approved to HSE Standards. Students on the course will learn how to act safely, promptly and effectively to deal with many 1st aid scenarios to include: Dealing with an Unconscious Casualty (including seizure), administering CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and knowing when to use the Recovery Position. We also train you how to deal with casualties suffering from Shock, Choking, Major Bleeds, Burns, Strokes, Heart attacks, Epilepsy and Diabetic Emergencies. A multiple choice paper & 3 practical assessments are needed to gain the certification.
This recent introduction to our courses is a step up from the EFAW course mentioned above. Recognised by Ofqual via Qualsafe Awards and part of the QCF framework this course is designed primarily for Sports Coaches and Pitch-side Leaders, however it is equally appropriate for Massage Therapists, Martial Arts Instructors and those involved in all types of impact sports. As well as covering the full EFAW syllabus, this course also focuses on Strains/Sprains, Broken Bones and Chest Injuries (Pneumothorax, Tension Pneumothorax and Flail chest). Multiple choice paper & practical assessments are needed to gain the certification.
This is the re-qualification of the above 3 day FAW Course for current first aiders. The 2 day course informs students of any changes in the first aid protocols since their last qualification and allows them time to reapply and improve the skills they have learnt. This course can only be used to certificate candidates that have already been assessed and shown to be proficient in the above FAW course and are within the 3 year expiry date shown on the current certificate (certificates are to be shown on the first day of the course). This course requires the same theory & practical assessment criteria as the above course to gain certification.

The annual refresher course is a highly recommended way of keeping up your skills if you are a First Aider at Work. The non-certificated course is designed to make the transition from a 3 day FAW to a 2 day FAW(R) more streamlined given the 3 year gap between qualifications. We have now extended the refresher course idea to be open for Paediatric qualification too. The course covers all the assessable parts of the FAW model, ie: CPR, Recovery Position, Major Bleeds and an ask any question session. We currently only offer these course in Essex, London and the Home Counties.
This is a simple course that is best suited to those with prior First Aid knowledge. It enables the student to have an understanding of the use of the many AED's that are now common place in shopping centres, large buildings and gymnasiums. This course trains the student to know when and how to use it confidently as well as giving a more in depth knowledge of the workings of the human heart, its electrical impulses and what ventricular fibrillation is. We also cover Heart Attack and Angina on this course to give a better overall knowledge to the student. This course can now be shortened to just 1.5 hours if added to another course.
This is the most basic requirement of any employer with regards to First Aid provisions recommended by the HSE. The course contains Basic Life Support, Responsibilities of an Appointed Person, Record Keeping and the Maintenance of a first aid box. In addition to this the course can be tailored to suit your work environment or made sport specific. We can cover any of the subjects listed under the heading of EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) that suits your work place needs. However due to the time frames of this course we cannot cover all the subjects of the EFAW course.
This much more in-depth AED course has no basic entry requirements but students with prior knowledge would definitely gain an increased benefit from it. The course enables the student to have an understanding of the use of the many AED's that are now common place in shopping centres, large buildings and gymnasiums as does our shorter course above. We also cover both Choking & The Recovery Position in addition to our insight into Heart Attack & Angina. This course requires the student to sit a 20 question multiple choice written assessment paper to attain the full qualification as per QCF. This certification is valid for 1 year.
